Even though I try really hard to stay out of fabric stores so I don't spend money, occasionally I fall of the wagon. I had a stack of fat quarters that I have been collecting staring me in the face every time I went into my family room. They were kind of funky fabrics that would eventually find their way into my "what the heck was I thinking?" pile. So I decided that I'd better make them into something while I was still interested in them. I took my good friend (a truly good friend will always help you spend money on fabric) with me to my fave quilt shop & bought the rest of what I needed to fashion a small quilt. The biggest piece I got 20% off, so I feel less guilty. I actually felt letdown after I finished getting the fabric when I realized that now I had to actually go home and do the dirty work. So in order to avoid the oh-so-common pitfall of buying, starting, but not finishing yet another project, I am going to post the evidence of my addiction on my blog and hold myself accountable to all the world. Ok, maybe only to the 7 people who actually look at my blog. So here is my fabric, and soon, within the next two weeks, I hope I will post the finished project!
Oh, and as an added bonus, here is a picture of my adorable child who is now seven weeks old.

I LOVE the fabric. I really want to learn how to quilt. A lot of my in-laws do it but I have yet to learn. One day! And I'm glad to hear you love to garden! We're trying to get the hang of it still. It's fun to try new and different things each year. You are a woman of many talents!
It was hard for me to decide which picture to gaze at the longest - fabric or baby. Just kidding - baby of course.
I am officially going to commit to finishing your baby quilt before you finish this quilt. So let it be written. So let it be done!
What do you mean "funky fabric?" Those pieces are gorgeous! Oh and the kid is pretty cute, too! I love ya!
Judy - I can help you with that.
I think my favorites are: holding your stinkin' cute incredibly alert bundle of happiness, the green fabric with the flowers, the pink/red one with the swirls, the chocolate one next to the green one, and the one with blue stripes. Oh, and the brown one at the bottom with some kind of design that I can't quite see. I can't wait to see it finished! I think I just really enjoy quilting vicariously. I don't actually need to do it myself– I can enjoy watching you do it!
Ditto, Peggy! I'm on the outside lookin' in and it suites me just fine. I think the fabric is funky AND cute!!!
oooohhhhhh...I do hope that I can sway you into giving that beautiful quilt to me. I can see it now and I imagine rolling around in it wearing only my skibbies (underwear).
